PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Armored, grey slug-like alien

HISTORY:

Barin was a young soldier, brave as a part of a fighting unit. He was recruited for the Green Lantern Corps by Boodikka of Bellatrix. Although he would have been a credit to the Corps, Barin was not ready to fight unaided.

He was found by Kilowog after he had been swarmed by space mongrels. The attack overwhelmed Barin, and he lapsed into a comatose state.

The injured Green Lantern was brought to Oa, where he was connected to life support systems. He believes himself to be the Green Lantern assigned by the Guardians to guard the Gates of Hell. His mind replays an endless battle against the demons.

Since the destruction of Oa by Kyle Rayner, Barin's fate is unknown.

To me at least, Barin resembles the alien "Smitty" from the "Trial of Superman" arc. :)
