The daughter of Mark Doremus, owner of the Cosmidor Corporation, Eve Doremus and her brother were in a camping area outside of Cosmidor City when Buddy teased a bear, enraging it. Running for their lives, Eve's screams caught the attention of the vacationing Hal Jordan. Secretly Green Lantern, Hal Jordan had been given a vacation by his boss, Mr. Lawford and the Guardians of the Universe. Even without his power ring, Jordan managed to drive off the bear, winning the admiration of Eve and Buddy. They invited Jordan to stay as a guest at their parent's mansion.

One night, a quartet of thieves broke into the Doremus Mansion but were foiled by Green Lantern. Though Buddy was thrilled to see the ring wielder, Eve was more concerned about Hal Jordan. Racing to his guest room, she and Green Lantern confirmed Hal Jordan was safe.

After his vacation, Jordan went back to his job at the Evergreen Insurance Company. Eve followed him to Evergreen City and lived in her uncle's mansion in the suburbs. They were out on a date when Eve was robbed of a gold pendant given to her by Jordan and a ball point pen used by Eve's uncle to work out a potentially lucrative chemical formula discovery.

The robber was part of the Jax Gang, a group of criminals that had created a device called the chronolometer. The device used a special beam on objects that reflected light to somehow release images of prior events surrounding the object. From the chronolometer, the Jax Gang learned where Eve Doremus' uncle had hidden the chemical formula he had created. Green Lantern prevented the formula from being stolen and eventually captured the rest of the gang and was able, through his secret identity as Hal Jordan, to return the gold heart to Eve Doremus.

The Doremus family held a children's charity show at their estate with Green Lantern performing for the kids. Unbeknownst to all, the villainous Hector Hammond would once again try and ultimately fail to kill Green Lantern.

Some days afterwards, Doctor Polaris made an attempt on Green Lantern's life. The attacker was a mental projection of the true Doctor Polaris which attacked Hal Jordan. Since the Doctor Polaris projection only communicated by direct telepathy with Green Lantern, Eve thought Hal Jordan was its target, not realizing Jordan and Green Lantern were one and the same.
[GREEN LANTERN 2nd series # 65]

When Commander Calibax, an extraterrestrial enemy of Green Lantern, claimed to have killed the ring wielder, the Doremus Mansion was used by the alien and his crew while they completed their plans on Earth. His power ring inoperative, Green Lantern had left his costume to make it appear he had been incinerated. The resourceful hero used the uniform of a mailman to help him get into the Doremus estate, and with Eve's help, convince Calibax the ring was still working. The diversion gave Green Lantern enough time to get in close to Calibax and foil his plans once and for all.
[GREEN LANTERN 2nd series # 68]

In Central City, Hal introduced Eve to Barry and Iris Allen, and Iris' nephew Wally West. Central City found itself menaced by Mirror Master and Black Hand before the villainous pair were apprehended by Green Lantern, the Flash and Kid Flash.
[FLASH AND GREEN LANTERN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD # 2]

Over two months after they met, Eve and Hal drifted apart. Jordan did not want to settle down and would eventually return to Coast City. Eve Doremus' current activities are unknown.
