HISTORY:
When the Guardians of the Universe left our plane of reality, they abolished the system of assigning one Green Lantern per sector. The Green Lanterns could now group as they saw fit.
The two person Green Lantern Corps of Sector 872 patrolled the galaxy in their sector. They, and all the life forms in the galaxy, were killed by a group of five creatures capable of altering themselves and surrounding objects invisible. With this defense they were theoretically invincible against the green energy of a power ring. The two Green Lanterns didn't have a chance.
Thrown through a black hole by MadGod Sector 3600, members of the Green Lantern Corps of Earth and the Green Lantern Corps of The Klyminade arrived in the remains of Sector 872.
They were attacked out of nowhere, and returning fire, discovered a Class-IV planet. Lured down to the surface they confronted the five galactic killers.
The Green Lanterns were attacked once again, as their surroundings faded out. John Stewart used his ring to attack his foes on the sub atomic levels. He created a prison that would trap their attackers forever.
Kilowog planned to use the uninhabited planet to create a new homeworld for the people of Bolovax Vik. During the Crisis, his homeworld, Bolovax Vik, had been destroyed. But before its destruction, he saved the "souls" of its 16 billion inhabitants in his power ring. The Corps reformed the world for them. Now Kilowog could go about creating new bodies for his people.
Freed from the ring, the people of Bolovax hailed Kilowog as a hero. The celebration was short lived as Sinestro, working with Sector 3600, obliterated the planet. Kilowog could not save his people a second time, and they were irrevocably destroyed.
The final spark of life in Space Sector 872 was extinguished.

This has to be one of my minimalist listings. :)
I know this entry doesn't give much info on the two GLs of Sector 872, but there wasn't much info to go with. In fact, GL2 # 218 showcased Kilowog and the GLCs of Earth and the Klyminade more than the GLC of 872. I wrote this profile to tell the story of the last days of a Space Sector.
As a fan of the GLC, I'd hoped the (soon to be) cancelled series would show other GLs in the universe. I wondered about these two "unknown soldiers"...
