"Rider of the Airwaves"

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Blond male with mustache

KNOWN RELATIVES: none

HISTORY:

Little is known about the short-lived criminal career of the villain called Master-Tek. Seeking money, not power, Master-Tek accepted a ten million dollar contract from a foreign nation to destroy the United States' communications infrastructure.

Wielding a device he called "the broadcast director," Master-Tek gathered all the broadcast energy in a 25 mile radius and concentrated it on an underground communications installation. Master-Tek's chosen target was a secured government relay station through which one quarter of the country's telephone lines met. The broadcast director caused the installation to vibrate uncontrollably and would have reduced it to rubble if not for the timely arrival of Green Lantern Hal Jordan and Airwave III.

The two heroes had been investigating the disruption of all broadcasting in the area and found Master-Tek as the cause. Green Lantern was hit with the full force of the broadcast director and barely had time to create a shield.

After finding Master-Tek was drawing broadcast energy from a St. Louis radio station, Airwave rode the radio waves back to the battle and gave Green Lantern the time he needed to recover and knockout the villain-for-hire. Master-Tek was handed over to the authorities by Green Lantern. He has not been seen since.
