HISTORY:

Reemuz was a Green Lantern recruited by Brik and Percival. He was brought to Oa for evaluation as a candidate, and then trained by Kilowog.
[GLCQ # 4]

During one training session, Reemuz, Breeon, Umitu, and Kilowog mistakenly believed Valor (Lar Gand) had come to Oa with hostile intent. The four Green Lanterns took the approach of Valor's starship, Pilgrim One, as an attack. They were unable to stop the ship due to its yellow hull. The Green Lanterns had to move aside to let Valor manage to land the ship. Valor had been bringing the injured Green Lantern Alia to Oa for medical treatment.
[VALOR # 11]

Sometime after his training was complete, Reemuz was on his own as a Green Lantern. During one adventure, he had been chasing a pair of thieves. Twice, he had caught them, and twice they had managed to break free of their emerald bonds. Finally, Reemuz was able to defeat them. The thieves had cut through the green energy by altering their weapons beams to emit yellow, which the ring is powerless against.

A young boy who had been watching the fight had thought Reemuz's ring was defective. The Green Lantern explained the neccessary impurity in the power ring.

The boy believed the impurity of the ring was a weakness that held the Green Lanterns back. Reemuz believed whatever the reason for the weakness, it actually made him a better Green Lantern, as it forced him to be more resourceful.

The boy still doubted the Green Lantern's explanation. To illustrate his point, Reemuz told the boy the story of Skr'kl, who had learned the price of overconfidence, but too late to do him any good.

'mouse note -

For Reemuz's history I flip-flopped the order of his appearances. In the GLCQ story, he seemed much more capable as a Green Lantern.
