HISTORY:
Years ago, the robot known as Teacher was the mechanical caretaker of Brin. His student would learn and grow, one day becoming a member of the Green Lantern Corps.
As the years past, Brin served heroically as a Green Lantern. He married Mina and the couple had a daughter, Meri, a son, Cor, and another infant son.. Brin's duties as a Green Lantern kept him away from his family, and Teacher was there for the kids as he had for the father.
When attempting to combat an invasion of his sector, Brin was almost killed by the Spider Guild. The Green Lantern of Uxor (The Green Man) and other members of the Green Lantern Corps were called in to battle the invaders. Brin was called to Oa where he was asked to retire.
The Guardians of the Universe had told Brin they would choose his successor from a member of his household. Brin was allowed to return home to share the news with his family.
The children were excited, believing one of them was to be the new Green Lantern. The family was surprised to find the Guardians had intended the Teacher to follow in Brin's hoofprints. They had been watching Teacher for years as he shared his wisdom and guidance with the members of Brin's family. He would be of great value to the Green Lantern Corps.
Meri and Cor stormed out in disgust, angry at their robotic friend. Although Teacher wished to stay to talk to them, Brin told him they now had more important responsibilities, Teacher as a Green Lantern, and Brin himself as a father.
