HISTORY:

Members of an advanced alien race on the planet Que, Thrrll and Brrmm were arguing the superiority of the military technology of two different worlds, Earth and Sposm, created during the same stage of each race's evolutionary development.

Thrrll believed humanity's "natural taste for killing" made the Sherman tank of Earth's Second World War superior to the modern day Sposm tank, while Brrmm was firm in his support of the Sposm tank as the more powerful of the two. They decided to settle their argument with a wager.

Using a device called the "omnitron," they created a battlefield and were able to bring a Sposm war machine across space.

The Sherman tank was more difficult to acquire. Thrrll and Brrmm were able to open a time tunnel near Earth which drew the attention of Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Earth.

The Green Lantern did not fight the pull of the time tunnel and soon found himself on a World War II battlefield, and under attack from the Allied tank. At first hesitant to use his power ring unless he was certain of the situation, Green Lantern was forced to use the ring to immobilize the tank in a force field. The emerald energy augmented the omnitron's energy and enabled Thrrll and Brrmm to bring the tank across space as well as time to the planet Que.

Unwilling to let the tank disappear without the answers he sought, Green Lantern followed it through the time tunnel. The atmosphere of Que caused him to blackout while the power of the omnitron was used to encourage the soldiers from Earth and Sposm to fight.

Inside the time tossed Sherman tank, Eddy Garfield and Sergeant Spike Cody fired at everything in sight. The machine gun fired wildly, striking the omnitron. A flash of omnitron energy awakened the aggressive primitive instincts within Thrrll and Brrmm, causing the two friends to fight each other.

After delivering a number of punishing blows to Brrmm, Thrrll ran out into the battlefield to take on the two tanks. A hail of machine gun fire cut him down. Green Lantern's power ring had adjusted itself to compensate for the atmosphere and he was able to stabilize the situation but not in time for the mortally wounded Thrrll.
Green Lantern returned both tanks to their proper time and place, leaving Brrmm to consider the horrors of war his people had long since forgot. Brrmm has not been seen since.
