HISTORY:

Umitu was a prospect for the Green Lantern Corps who was tested by Hal Jordan. He impressed Jordan with his fighting ability, and was admitted into the Corps.

During a training session with Kilowog, Umitu tried to prevent Valor's sentient spaceship from crashing on Oa. Valor was bringing Alia to Oa for medical treatment.

There is little record as to Umitu's actions after the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps. Umitu was one of scores of Green Lanterns who were freed from a slave ring by ex-Green Lantern Guy Gardner.
