HISTORY:

A Green Lantern for a score of millenia, Wylxa finally planned to retire. His ring chose a young man named Tahr from all on Portworld. Wyxla was less than satisfied with his apprentice's abilities, until he was reminded of his own early days.

When Wylxa died in the Crisis, his apprentice Tahr was to be evaluated as a Green Lantern by Gk'd of F'yp.

The opening caption and panel allude to Portworld as being Earth in the far flung future.

While this might have been possible, (despite the fact Earth is in Sector 2814, the designation of a sector is fixed on Oa as the center but the celestial objects themselves are not fixed) it is disproven by the mention of Wylxa and Tahr in the (then) present of GL2 # 199.
